The University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Trust are generously providing funding to enable 25 (five per year for five years) outstanding applicants from sub-Saharan African countries to study for PhDs at the University of Cambridge.

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme for International Students

The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$240,000 (approximately US$30,000) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year to each awardee for a period of up to three years. More than 200 PhD Fellowships will be awarded. For awardees who need more than three years to complete their PhD studies, additional support may be provided by the chosen institutions. TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme for Researchers from Developing Countries

In collaboration with UNESCO and a number of centres of excellence in the South, TWAS has instituted a Joint Associateship Scheme to enable competent researchers from the South to visit these centres regularly. An associate is appointed for three years during which he/she can visit a Centre twice for research collaboration. Almost 300 centres have been selected to participate in the Scheme.
