10. University of Bristol Scholarships for Students with Exceptional Talent

And we open with a scholarship from the UK. Every year, 20 of these scholarships from the University of Bristol are open to undergraduate students who can demonstrate outstanding artistic, musical, dramatic or sporting talent. The scholarship is an award of up to £3,000 per annum for at least the first three years of study.

9. International Fashion Academy (IFA) Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships

IFA Paris is one of the few scholarships on our list for fashion students. Do you know any fashion students? Ask them to apply for this scholarship. This school – a French School, English program –offers 3 types of scholarships to international students; the 100% full tuition scholarship, the 40% tuition scholarship and 20% tuition scholarship. Because you are now informed, explain your friend who wants this scholarship that in an academic year, they can only apply for one of the three scholarship types just listed for any Bachelor or Master or MBA course. But if they are not awarded the scholarship, they cannot apply for another scholarship and will again have to go through the regular admission process which includes a €150 application fee, so choose the IFA Paris scholarship type wisely!

8. Sarabande Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation Scholarship:

Another fashion scholarship. The Sarabande Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation Scholarships are given to both students of Bachelors and Masters in Fashion at the University of the Arts London. The Bachelors scholarship is an award of £6,000 while the Masters scholarship is an award of £22,100 to be used towards any course costs and living expenses for the duration of the course but not to be used to pay course fees. what does this mean? that you can live in a comfortable home while chasing your designer dreams *wink*

7. Stellenbosch University Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences Residential PhD Scholarships

This full-time doctoral scholarship programme is offered to students from sub-Saharan African countries to “help prepare Africa’s next generation of academics and professionals to address critical challenges of the continent with a focus on the eradication of poverty and the promotion of peace and democracy”. The scholarship offers up to 420,000rand over three years to any student willing to follow the research themes of the Stellenbosch University Graduate School.

6. Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarships in Media Arts Cultures

If your branch of Arts is media related whether art history, cultural studies, media communication studies, fine arts practice, cultural management, museology, art restoration, library and archive science, computer science, or  any other field directly related to digital media, the arts or culture, then apply for the Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarships in Media Arts Cultures scholarship.

But do you know what the Erasmus Mundus scholarship is?

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarships, created by the European Commission first for Universities in Europe, are scholarships where a consortium of universities band up together to give you an academic experience of a lifetime. Universities come together to offer you a masters program with some fully-funded scholarships. Basically, 4-6 universities in different countries could be involved in your Masters education. You will learn in 2 different countries before you then earn a joint Masters degree. A joint Masters degree is basically two degrees for one course rather than simply one degree. Worth mentioning is the fact that the scheme has been broadened to include universities in Asia and Africa.

5. Princeton Arts Fellowships for Early-Career Artist(e)s

Another on the list for Doctoral students, you will be invited to Princeton University if you are an early career composer, conductor, musician, choreographer, visual artist, filmmaker, poet, novelist, playwright, designer, director or performance artist and you find it beneficial to spend two years teaching and working in a vibrant university community. An $81,000 a year stipend is provided already so just… you know… jump in. That means apply as soon as this juicy Fellowship opens.

4. University of the Arts London (UAL) Scholarships for Students in Developing Countries:

According to QS World University Rankings, UAL is the world’s second best and Europe’s largest specialist university for art, design fashion and the performing arts. This is the second scholarship on our list by UAL worth mentioning. This scholarship for students from developing countries provides £25,000 to cover tuition fee charges and contribute for living costs. Scholarship candidates will also be offered International Students House (ISH) accommodation for the duration of their study. Hmm. You really are in luck if you secure admission into this University but if you are also able to get this scholarship with only 6 slots open in a year…? Whew.

3. Miles Morland Foundation African Scholarship for Creative Writing:

Through the Miles Morland Foundation African Scholarship, up to £25,000 for tuition fees as well as a maintenance grant is awarded to a Masters student to enable them study the MA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) course. Winners of this scholarship will also be considered for any of the following scholarships without even applying a second time. They will be considered for: The University of East Anglia Booker Prize Foundation Scholarship, The University of EastAnglia BAME Writers’ Scholarship. The Kowitz Scholarship, The Malcolm Bradbury Memorial Scholarship, The David Higham Scholarship in Prose Fiction, The John Boyne Scholarship, The Annabel Abbs Scholarship and The Seth Donaldson Memorial Bursary.

2. Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

If you want to take Masters studies in an European country, then apply for this scholarship. The Swiss Government Art scholarships are open to art students wishing to pursue a master’s degree in Switzerland. Art scholarships are awarded for study at any Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. Only those who have already been awarded a place to study may apply. This scholarship is available to students from a limited number of countries only. The scholarship covers a monthly payment, exemption from tuition fees, health insurance, air fare, special lodging allowance and a host of other expenses for the whole period of your study.

1.DAAD fully-funded Scholarships for Artists and Filmmakers in Developing Countries

In this study programme by the German government, students from developing countries have the choice of either taking a Master’s degree leading to a final qualification, or a complementary course for 4 months that does not lead to a final qualification at a state or state-recognised German university of their choice. This DAAD Scholarship will only fund projects in the artistic field of the Performing Arts like Drama, Theatre Directing/Theatre Dramaturgy, Musicals, Performance Studies, Dance and Choreography. The scholarship will cover all payments including 850euros monthly payment, travel, study allowance, health, accident and personal liability insurance covers. Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive additional benefits like Monthly rent subsidy and Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family. To brush up your German, DAAD also provides all payments and allowances. Numerous scholarship spots are open every year so dust off your portfolio and apply!
