The Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway (ATPP) is a national initiative by the Federal Ministry of Education, NTI, and TRCN to professionalise teachers already serving in Nigerian classrooms without formal education training. It provides a structured six‑month pathway leading to TRCN certification and licensing, while allowing teachers to continue teaching during the programme.

Which Fields are Eligible

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) – for non‑education Bachelor’s or HND holders with at least 24 months teaching experience.
  • Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) – for OND/ND holders with at least 24 months teaching experience.
  • Covers ECCDE, Primary, Secondary, TVET, non‑formal and alternative education settings.
