With years, the program has evolved and many developments have occurred across it, however, it has kept to its sole objective of helping the first years students in getting themselves acquainted with the cultural, social and academic life of Yale University. There are many counselors on campus, therefore, every first-year student might not get the same counselor as the next person.
The Peer Liaisons is made up of upper-level students who chose to connect and help the first-year students through the many initiatives on campus like University Chaplain’s Office, LGBTQ Resource Center, the Asian American Cultural Center, the Office of International Students and Scholar, the Native American Cultural Center, the La Casa Latino Cultural Center, and the likes. The peer liaison will rely on the resources available at their centers and serves as a means of guiding first-year students through their first year’s academic and social activities.
One thing the Yale University can be commended for is good sportsmanship with other top universities close and far away.
