  1. Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award

The Sunday Times writing contest is open to all nationalities whose work has been previously published in the UK or Ireland to write a short story of up to 6000 words. The language is strictly English. The value of the contest is a cash prize of £30,000.

  1. The Montreal International Poetry Prize

Contestants are encouraged to submit a single poem of not more than 40 lines written in English language. The award of the contest is a cash prize of $20,000. The submission is open from January through May.

  1. The Mogford Prize for Food and Drink Writing

Contestants are advised to submit a short story in which food and drink is prominently featured. The language is English and must be submitted between November and January. The value of the scholarship is a cash prize of £10,000.

  1. Cesar Egido Serrano Foundation International Flash Fiction Competition

Contestants are asked to submit a story of not fewer than 100 words on the theme “The Word, bridging the gap between different cultures and religions.” the required languages are English, Spanish, Hebrew or Arabic. The benefit of the contest is a cash prize of $20,000, plus an all-expense paid trip to attend the award ceremony at Madrid.

  1. Manchester Metropolitan University Poetry and Short Story Prizes

Contestants are required to submit between three to five poems totalling not more than 120 lines or a short story of about 2,500 words, all written in English language. The award of the contest is a cash prize of £10,000.

  1. The Moth Poetry Prize

The contest is formerly referred to as Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize. Interested contestants are required to send an entry of as many poems as possible as long as it has not been previously published. However, the submission is at the rate of €12 per poem. The required language is English. The value of the contest is €10,000.

  1. The Emerging Writer Award

The award is open to unpublished fiction writers, living and working in the UK, irrespective of nationalities. Fictions for any age group is acceptable, though scriptwriting and non-fiction are ineligible for the contest. The benefit of the contest is a cash prize of £2000.

  1. Picasso Art Contest for International Students

The drawing competition by Picasso is open to children above six years. The participants are from 69 countries (check the website to know if your country is eligible), please. Sponsored by the International Organization for Standard (ISO), children and parents that value art are encouraged to send in their entries. The award includes the publication of winners’ painting on the website, publication of his/her photo in the winner’s gallery, certificate of achievements and recognition as a star (different levels, depending on the position).

  1. Annual Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

This is an annual international contest to raise women’s ongoing contribution towards the mathematical sciences. It is open to children between age 6 – 8, 9 -12, as well as college undergraduates. The winners will receive a cash prize and their essay posted online.

  1. Commonwealth Youth Council Poetry Competition 2020.

The competition is open to applicants of Commonwealth countries and the theme of the competition is “My disability does not define me.” This is to commemorate World’s Braille Day, hosted in the UK. The competition is open to applicants between the ages of 15 and 25. Entries must not exceed 30 lines and 400 words.
