USA is the most populous country pertaining to international students. About 5% of all higher-level education students are international students. For a student to be enrolled in any school in the USA, he/she must be in possession of student’s visa, travel requirements, student’s insurance plan and enough cash to offset the bills.

Before getting an admission in the USA, international students are required to pass through tests and essay writing like SAT, TOEFL and IELTS. Schools and some institutions also offer financial aids and scholarships; you could be lucky to get one to sponsor your education.

Applying for Admission to a USA University

There are admission procedures to be met by students for each university. It is advisable to apply to separate universities as your first choice may not accept you.  Most schools advise prospective international students to apply one year prior to the admission. The application procedures include:

  • Write to several schools. Contact each school for admission procedure.
  • Send application forms. The fee for each application in the US is between $35 to $100. It covers the processing of the admission and is non-refundable.
  • Register for admission tests.
  • Write the tests.
  • Receive acceptance letters.
  • Pay your deposit.
