UNESCO has opened the call for applications and nominations for the 2026 International Literacy Prizes. The UNESCO International Literacy Prizes recognize outstanding and innovative literacy programmes worldwide. In 2026, the theme is “Literacy for people, the planet, and prosperity”, marking the 60th anniversary of International Literacy Day.
