The FoodHaus Fellowship for Action 2026–2027 is a 9-month hybrid fellowship for changemakers working to transform food systems. The program combines weekly online sessions with two one-week in-person immersion weeks in Switzerland. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the program is filled or latest by 31 August 2026. However, the early-bird deadline for a reduced fee and scholarship requests is 1 July 2026.

Program Duration: 9 months: begins online 12 October 2026 and ends end of August 2027; includes two one-week in-person intensives (Oct 25–31, 2026 and Aug 8–14, 2027).
Program Location: Hybrid: weekly online sessions plus two one-week in-person immersion weeks at Gut Rheinau (Rheinau/Zurich), Switzerland (Oct 25–31, 2026 and Aug 8–14, 2027).
Funding/Benefits: Early-bird participation fee: Swiss applicants 2,900 CHF / International applicants 2,400 CHF (deadline 1 July 2026). Regular participation fee: Swiss applicants 3,400 CHF / International applicants 2,900 CHF (deadline 31 Aug 2026). Accommodation, meals and transportation during the in-person intensives are included in the fee. Travel to/from Switzerland, visa costs, and personal expenses are not included. Limited scholarships available to cover a portion of the fee.

About this Program

FoodHaus offers this fellowship as an immersive learning journey for people who want to build practical responses to food system challenges. Over nine months, fellows develop and implement a concrete initiative in their local context, either individually or with co-creators.

In addition, the program includes coaching, mentoring, peer learning, and leadership development. Fellows meet online each week and also take part in two required in-person immersion intensives in Switzerland.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be 21 years or older.
  • Applicants should show a demonstrated interest in food system challenges and creating change.
  • Prior work experience is required.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate in English.
  • Applicants must be able to attend both in-person intensives in Switzerland and actively participate online.

What Fellows Receive: Coaching and mentoring; peer collaboration and cohort community; two one-week in-person immersion weeks in Switzerland (accommodation, meals and in-program transport included); weekly online sessions and ongoing experiential learning over 9 months; alumni network access post-program; official letter of invitation to support visa applications (where needed); limited scholarships available to cover a portion of the participation fee.

Program Components Attend weekly online group calls (Thursdays 3–4 pm CET/CEST); fully participate in both one-week in-person immersion intensives in Switzerland; engage in the 9-month experiential learning journey, including coaching, mentoring, peer collaboration and implementation of a local initiative; work on developing and implementing a concrete initiative in a local context.
