The Land is Life Indigenous Women’s Program Fellowship 2027 (Cohort V) is now open to Indigenous women leaders worldwide. This year-long fellowship supports Indigenous women who are driving change in their communities. In addition, fellows receive mentoring, technical support, training, networking opportunities, advocacy support, and funding for a community project.

About this Program
The fellowship is designed for Indigenous women leaders between 18 and 35 years old. It combines leadership development with practical community action.
Fellows are expected to design and implement a community project within 10 months. Through this work, they support the promotion and protection of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, with attention to Indigenous women and girls.
The program also includes bimonthly virtual trainings and peer learning. As a result, fellows can strengthen their leadership skills while connecting with Indigenous women leaders and partners at local, regional, and global levels.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Indigenous women between 18 and 35 years old.
- Applicants must be fluent in English, French, or Spanish.
- Applicants should not have been a former Land is Life fellow.
- Priority is given to applicants who do not hold a master’s or doctoral degree.
- Priority is also given to applicants from countries not previously selected to participate in the program.
- The fellowship is open to Indigenous women leaders driving change in their communities.
What Fellows Receive: Personalized mentoring from Indigenous women leaders, up to $3,000 USD in funding and technical support for a community-level project, a $3,600 USD stipend to support participation throughout the program, bimonthly trainings on Indigenous Peoples’ rights, leadership development, networking opportunities, and advocacy support to participate in national and international decision-making spaces.
