The Decolonizing Humanities Fellowship, hosted by the Department of Anthropology, Universitas Indonesia (UI) and supported by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, is designed to challenge colonial legacies in humanities scholarship. It fosters South-to-South scholarly exchange and supports mid-career scholars from Southeast Asia (excluding Indonesia) and Africa to reimagine foundational concepts in the humanities from a Global South perspective.

- Be mid-career scholars affiliated with academic institutions in Southeast Asia (excluding Indonesia) or Africa.

- Submit a research proposal aligned with the fellowship’s epistemological agenda.
How are Candidates Selected?
- Based on academic merit, relevance of research to decolonial humanities, and potential for collaboration.
- Screening of CV, research proposal, and optional writing sample.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further discussion.
