Applications are open for the CorpsAfrica Volunteer Program 2026 in Ghana. The application deadline is 23:59 on Friday, April 30, 2026. This program gives Ghanaians the chance to live and work in rural, underserved communities while supporting small-scale, high-impact projects identified by local people.


Selected volunteers complete one month of pre-service training and then serve for ten months. In addition, participants may have the opportunity to extend their service.

About this Program

CorpsAfrica provides Africans the opportunity to serve as Volunteers in rural, underserved communities in their own countries. Volunteers help facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects identified by local people and funded by partners from Africa and around the world.

For this application, volunteers in Ghana receive one month of pre-service training before beginning ten months of service. During the program, they work closely with communities to identify needs, co-create solutions, and support implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a citizen of Ghana
  • Be 21 years of age or older at the time of the start of service
  • Possess a university degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Be willing and able, physically and emotionally, to serve for the entirety of the service in rural, often remote communities
  • Have no record of criminal activity that would demonstrate unsuitability for CorpsAfrica service
  • Have no conflict of interest that would interfere with duties and responsibilities as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer
  • Understand that volunteerism is an altruistic act, where one offers time, skills, and resources without expectation of financial gain

What Fellows Receive: Expert pre-service and in-service training from development and management professionals, a living allowance adequate to support the Volunteer in his/her site, health insurance, travel funds for official CorpsAfrica business, an end-of-service readjustment allowance, a certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation.

  • Monitor and evaluate results
  • Submit reports regularly
  • Make presentations regularly
  • Commit to working in a highly underserved community in Ghana to improve the quality of life of the community
  • Serve where CorpsAfrica asks them to serve, under conditions of hardship, if necessary
  • Build trust and confidence with the host community
  • Maintain professional conduct and represent CorpsAfrica responsibly at all times during service
  • Engage with host community partners in a spirit of cooperation, mutual learning, and respect
  • Exercise good judgment and personal responsibility to protect health, safety, and well-being
