In Mathematics, the program goes from kindergarten to university and the missions we propose guide students according to their needs, using state-of-the-art algorithms that can identify the strengths and weaknesses of each student.
The academy is a virtual classroom that provides its teachings through the aid of free Youtube videos. This scholarship program, unique in its class, guides the student in the process of university planning and rewards his initiative and efforts aimed at applying for admission to the institutions of interest.
About the Scholarship Program
College Board Opportunity Scholarships are not a typical scholarship program. It does not require the student to write an essay or complete an application and does not take into consideration the grade point average (GPA) or the scores obtained on the SAT. Instead, the student must complete the following steps while in the eleventh or twelfth grade of high school:
1) Create a list of the universities that interest you. (600 scholarships valued at $ 500 each will be awarded).
2) Practice for the SAT. To prepare for the test, the student must complete the practices available on the Khan Academy portal. (1500 scholarships valued at $ 1000 each will be awarded).
3) Improve your performance on the SAT. The practice will help you improve test scores. (150 scholarships valued at $ 2000 each will be offered).
4) Optimize your list of universities. The student must ensure that the institutions offer the academic program and the university environment they are looking for. (400 scholarships valued at $ 500 each will be awarded).
5) Complete the application for federal aid known as Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA). (800 scholarships valued at $ 1000 each will be awarded).
6) Apply for university admission. The student must send admission applications to the institutions that really interest him. (500 scholarships valued at $ 1000 each will be awarded).
Scholarships will be awarded through monthly draws to participants who complete each step. Students who complete the six steps will be eligible to receive a $ 40,000 scholarship (25 scholarships available).
Scholarship Funding
The College Board’s commitment is to award $ 5 million in scholarships each year over the next five years, beginning with the class of 2020. This amount is broken down into about 4000 scholarships per year ranging from $ 500 to $ 40,000. In addition, students may register to receive notifications and reminders from the College Board.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Sal Khan project, remains an interesting complement to classical education, without trying to change its foundations. It is also a good example of how well-used technology can help spread knowledge to any corner of the world without turning it into a business, and we can hope for the continuity of this project.
