As the first Nigerian university to partner with the Mastercard Foundation, PAU will educate and empower 650 Scholars over the next ten years. The program is designed to nurture leadership, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to community development through full academic and socio-economic support. Scholars benefit from tuition coverage, mentorship, internships, and career guidance, positioning them for long-term professional and social impact.

Who can Apply For The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program?

The scholarship is open to applicants who:

  • Demonstrate academic excellence
  • Demonstrate leadership potential
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Are young women interested in STEM programmes
  • Are internally displaced young people
  • Are young people with disabilities
  • Demonstrate commitment to giving back to their community.
  • Must have passed WAEC/ NECO/ GCE/ NABTEB with 5 credits including English and Mathematics and three other subjects in Arts, Sciences and Social Science in not more than two sittings.
  • UTME Minimum Score of 220 (The required UTME subjects are English Language and any three of Social Science, Arts or Science subjects)

Selection is based on:

  • Interview performance (either in-person or virtual, depending on the candidate’s location)
    Applicants go through a multi-step process including application submission, screening, shortlisting, and interviews.

How to Apply:

  • Step 1: Ensure you meet the academic requirements (five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics in no more than two sittings).
  • Step 2: If you do not yet have UTME results, complete the Interest Form to begin the screening process.
  • Step 3: Write the JAMB UTME and attain a minimum score of 220.
  • Step 4: Candidates with UTME results should fill out the Online Application Form.
  • Step 5: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews.
  • Step 6: Successful candidates will be granted admission and awarded the scholarship.
