Who can Apply for the British Council Languages Teacher Training Scholarship?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Hold a 2:1 Bachelor of Honours degree (or predicted 2:1), or a relevant Master’s or PhD, or an international equivalent.
- Have a degree in French, German or Spanish, or another subject (including 2:2 degrees) with significant experience or knowledge of the target language.
- Demonstrate language proficiency sufficient for teaching to A Level standard.
- Secure a place on an eligible non-salaried teacher training scheme in England by September 2025.
- International applicants must provide a Statement of Compatibility (ENIC) for overseas qualifications.
How are Applicants Selected?
The selection process includes three stages:
- Eligibility checks
- Assessment of the application
- Virtual interview on Microsoft Teams, including a presentation (partly in English and partly in the target language).
