Is a White House internship a paid position?
Internships at the White House are unpaid. In order to apply for help when needed, applicants are urged to get in touch with educational institutions and other nonprofit organizations. Any outside income, money, or housing aid obtained as a White House intern must receive pre-approval.
What are the hours of the White House Internship?
Candidates should anticipate working from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interns must work 4.5 days a week to be considered full-time, though there will be certain exceptions for applicants with program or class requirements. For instance, if suitable, an intern may depart one day per week at 1:00 p.m. or later.
Is housing available for White House interns?
No, applicants are required to make their own housing arrangements.
Is political preference a deciding factor in the application review process?
No. Nonetheless, candidates must be committed to the White House’s principles and goal.
Can I mail a hard copy of my application?

Will I be penalized if my recommendation is sent in late?
Yes. All application documents, including letters of recommendation, must be submitted on or before the respective application date. We advise you to send your application package as soon as it is finished, as applications are considered on a rolling basis.
