South African OLD SCHOOL TIES Teaching Recruitment 2023 for Graduate South Africans. Apply below.

When is Application Deadline: Not specfied

Tell Me About Old School Ties: Old School Ties (O.S.T.) was founded in September 2016, and stems from its initiator’s growing awareness of the frustration in South Africa of (1) teaching staff wanting to advance their careers but remaining largely oblivious to the opportunities at schools elsewhere, and (2) head teachers needing to replace staff, but having to rely either on hugely expensive print media, inefficient digital forums and/or word-of-mouth.

Old School Ties (O.S.T.) sources vacancy adverts from all of South Africa’s premier primary and high schools – whether state or independent ones. To find out more, go to our LISTING AN ADVERT page.

All teachers – together with all administrative, sporting and ancillary staff – are invited and encouraged to regularly read the vacancies listed on the O.S.T. website, and to follow O.S.T. on Facebook and Twitter.

Via this website and its platforms on social media, O.S.T. primarily provides a listing function. Prospective teachers are to contact the schools directly, using the contact details provided on each respective vacancy advert.

Adverts can be listed in any of South Africa’s official languages.

Join O.S.T., and help us become the premier digital market place in Southern Africa for the hiring of all school staff.

What is the Benefit of Old School Ties ?

  • The staff at Old School Ties (O.S.T.) recognise the frustrations felt by teachers in South Africa wanting to advance their careers or secure a better future for themselves and their families.
  • Teachers (and other school staff) generally remain unaware of the opportunities at schools elsewhere – and tools like the infrequent Government Gazettes and motley websites that attempt to act as meeting places for employees and employers are unsatisfactory.
  • On the other hand, head teachers needing to replace staff also face difficulties – especially at the end of the academic year (when resignations abound) and at the start of the new year (when vacancies have to be filled). Using the print media is prohibitively expensive when budgets are tight, and neither the inefficient digital forums that exist nor word-of-mouth offer much comfort.
