Tell Me About The Program:
The Fulbright FLTA Program is a fully funded teaching assistantship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). It enables early-career educators from over 50 countries to teach their native language and culture at U.S. institutions of higher education while enhancing their professional skills and cultural knowledge.
Which Fields are Eligible?
- Teaching assistantships in foreign languages and cultures.
- Open to early-career teachers of English or related fields.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Reside in their country of nomination at the time of application.
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- Be early-career teachers of English or related fields (teaching experience preferred).
- Show interest in teaching their native language and culture in the U.S.
- Demonstrate English proficiency:
- TOEFL PBT: 550+
- TOEFL iBT: 79–80+
- IELTS: 6.0+
- Be flexible, adaptable, and willing to live in rural or urban U.S. areas.
- Not hold U.S. citizenship or dual nationality.
How are Candidates Selected?
- Based on academic record, teaching experience, English proficiency, and leadership potential.
- Preference for candidates who can creatively engage students and contribute to cultural exchange.
