About this Program
The True Blue Fellowship is designed for youth who want to use the creative arts to drive environmental awareness and action. Specifically, fellows are expected to lead projects that address ocean, waterways, and/or climate change issues in their local communities.
Twelve fellows are selected for the programme. Moreover, the fellowship combines funding with mentorship and community support. Projects should create tangible impact and involve local participation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be ages 16–24 at the start of the fellowship period in January.
- The fellowship is open to young people worldwide.
- Applications must be submitted in English.
- Applicants should be comfortable with spoken English.
- Individuals, groups, or organisations may apply.
- If a group or organisation applies, one project leader must be designated as the Fellow.
- Projects must be new or emerging, meaning less than two years old.
- Organisations older than two years may apply only if the proposed project is less than two years old.
What Fellows Receive: Up to USD $2,500 in project funding, mentorship, capacity-building programming, peer community, support from the Future Blue Youth Council and Bow Seat staff, and access to resources for grant writing, project management, and fundraising.
Program Components
Applicants are expected to lead and implement a project that runs for at least one year. In addition, projects should use the creative arts as the primary method for awareness and/or action. Fellows should also co-create with and engage others in their local community while delivering tangible impact on the local community and environment.
