The Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford is inviting applications for the Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Quantitative Political Science (Voter ID Project). The fellow will work with Prof Petra Schleiter and the wider research team. In addition, the role focuses on survey experiments, survey instrument design, data collection monitoring, data-quality checks, and quantitative research methods development.

About this Program

This postdoctoral fellowship is part of an ESRC-funded research project on voter ID in the UK. The selected fellow will contribute to the project’s research design and implementation.

Key tasks include designing a survey experiment, coding and testing survey instruments, monitoring data collection with the survey firm, and carrying out data-quality checks. The fellow will also adapt existing methods and develop new quantitative approaches suited to the data.

The role requires close collaboration with the Principal Investigator, co-investigators, and other research team members. At the same time, the fellow is expected to manage their research activities and workload with initiative and sound judgement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must hold or be close to completion of a doctorate in political science or a related field
  • Must have experience of survey experiments, survey design and survey data analysis
  • Must have expertise in advanced quantitative methods and research design
  • Must have experience of working in R

What Fellows Receive: £39,424 – £43,984 per annum, plus Oxford staff benefits including 38 days of annual leave inclusive of public holidays, additional leave after long service, family leave, hybrid and flexible working, a contributory pension scheme, commuting support, and access to social, cultural, and sports clubs.
