The great news is that up to three (03) years of rent-free, bill-free student housing are up for grabs with the Unite Foundation Scholarship Scheme 2025/2026, which is currently accepting applications.

The Unite Foundation Scholarship offers up to 3 years of free, year-round student accommodation to care leavers, care-experienced students (Scotland), and estranged young people studying at partner universities in the UK. This includes holidays, graduation summer, and relocation flexibility. The foundation also provides ongoing support, community opportunities, and no need for deposits or guarantors.

📘 Which Fields are Eligible?

All undergraduate programs at eligible UK partner universities. The scholarship is based on student background and university affiliation, not the field of study.

👥 Who can Apply?

You must be:

  • 25 or under on 1 September 2025
  • Starting or continuing your first undergraduate degree
  • Studying at a Unite Foundation partner university
  • Classified as a UK home fee status student
  • Recognized by Student Finance or SAAS as a care leaver, care experienced (Scotland), or estranged student

Accepted Definitions:

  1. Care Leaver (England, Wales, NI): Recognized by a local authority, aged 16–25
  2. Care Experienced (Scotland): Looked after by a local authority at any stage
  3. Estranged Student: Verified by Student Finance/SAAS as independent due to breakdown with both parents

How are Applicants Selected?

Selection is based on:

  • Meeting eligibility criteria
  • Supporting documentation (from Student Finance, local authority, or SAAS)
  • Correct and timely application submission
  • Priority may be given based on need and university quotas

🌍 Which Countries Are Eligible?

Only UK home fee status students are eligible, meaning:

  • UK citizens or those with settled/pre-settled status, refugee/asylum status, or indefinite leave to remain
  • The scholarship is not open to international or EU fee-paying students

At one of the 25 Unite Foundation partner universities across England, Scotland, and Wales, including:

70 scholarships are available for the 2025/26 academic year.
