Who can Apply for the Southern Denmark University scholarship?

To be admitted to a Master’s programme, you must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree, a professional Bachelor’s degree, or another degree on the same level (European Qualification Framework level 6). Please be aware that not all foreign Bachelor’s degrees are considered equivalent to a Danish Bachelor’s degree in terms of level and workload. You are always welcome to submit an application, even if you are unsure if your Bachelor’s degree is at a sufficient level.

Eligibility Criteria for the Southern Denmark University scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a non-EU/EEA citizen.
  • Be enrolling in one of the following Master’s programs in  Sønderborg: MSc in Engineering – Mechatronics, MSc in Engineering – Electronics, or MSc in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrate English proficiency comparable to the Danish B level in English. This can be proven through:
    • A secondary school leaving certificate (minimum 210 hours at high school level).
    • An IELTS score of at least 6.5.
    • A TOEFL score of 575/230/88.

What is the Benefit of this scholarship?

The Denmark Government Scholarship at SDU offers two types of financial support:

  • Full Tuition Fee Waiver and Grant: This covers the complete tuition fee and provides a grant to help with living expenses.
  • Partial Tuition Fee Waiver: This covers the tuition fee for one year (second and fourth semesters). Students are required to pay for the first and third semesters. The waiver covers 30 ECTS per semester; additional courses are not included.
