The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) offers several scholarships to support talented students beginning their studies in computer science and digital technologies. These scholarships are designed to ease the financial burden of relocation and living costs while encouraging diversity and excellence in technology education.
Which Fields are Eligible?
Three scholarships are available:
- HPI Bachelor Starting Fund – for students entering the B.Sc. IT Systems Engineering programme, especially those relocating, first‑generation students, or those with migration backgrounds.
- Women in Tech EmpowerPack – for young women applying to the B.Sc. IT Systems Engineering programme.
- HPI Computer Science Scholarship – for international students (EU and non‑EU) applying to the M.Sc. Computer Science programme.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Apply for admission to the relevant HPI programme (Bachelor or Master).
- Demonstrate outstanding academic performance (Bachelor applicants: GPA equivalent to 1.2 in the German system).
- For international applicants: provide a recognition certificate (via uni‑assist or Cottbus School Authority).
- Women applying for IT Systems Engineering are encouraged to apply for the EmpowerPack.
- International graduates applying for the Master’s programme in Computer Science are eligible for the HPI Computer Science Scholarship.
