Applications are open for the Call for Curator – West Africa Fusion Artist Residency (2026) under the SANKOFA II project. This opportunity is hosted by Expertise France and seeks a Ghanaian-based curatorial expert to design and coordinate the 2026 residency edition.

The selected curator will support program design, participant selection, artistic development, capacity-building, visibility, and reporting. In addition, the assignment will cover residency coordination from July to December 2026 across Accra and other locations in West Africa.

The West Africa Fusion Artist Residency, under SANKOFA II, is a high‑impact program designed to foster creative collaboration, cultural dialogue, and professional development among artists from Ghana and West Africa. Expertise France is seeking a curatorial expert to design and coordinate the next three editions (2026–2028), ensuring alignment with Ghana’s cultural and creative industry priorities.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be Ghanaian‑based curatorial experts.

  • Demonstrate experience in multidisciplinary residencies or artistic programs.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Ghana’s cultural and creative sector and West African practices.
  • Have established professional networks with artists, institutions, and stakeholders.
  • Show strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Communicate fluently in English (French desirable).
  • Experience with donor‑funded programs is an advantage.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Submit technical and financial proposals by 22 June 2026.
  • Evaluation criteria:
    • Technical proposal (70%) → qualifications (40%), methodology (30%).
    • Financial proposal (30%) → cost‑effectiveness and coherence.
  • Shortlisted candidates will coordinate with Expertise France’s field team.
