The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers fellowships for international undergraduate students. The fellowship has two levels:
- Level A: Tuition waiver, comprehensive medical insurance, monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and accommodation subsidy.
- Level B: Tuition waiver only.
Applicants can apply for one or both levels, but only one scholarship will be awarded per student based on USTC’s evaluation.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health.
- Hold HSK Level 5 or above (exemptions apply for native Chinese speakers or those who studied in Chinese-medium high schools).
- For emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan: must have obtained foreign citizenship before 30 April 2022 and lived abroad for at least 2 years between 2022–2026.
- For applicants born abroad to Chinese parents: must provide proof of permanent residence abroad, renunciation of Chinese nationality, or PRC Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card.
- Meet conditions set by Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education of PRC.
- Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) by July 2026.
- Be under 30 years old by 1 September 2026.
- Not be recipients of other Chinese scholarships/funds for 2026–27.
How are Applicants Selected?
- Based on academic performance, language proficiency, recommendation letters, and overall evaluation.
- USTC decides whether Level A or Level B fellowship is awarded.
