AGIP scholarship

The Nigerian AGIP Oil Company is offering two categories of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The admission is currently on-going and eligible candidates are required to apply within the deadline which is between the 1st and 31st August.

AGIP Oil Company is a multinational oil company that was established in the year, 1962. It retails gasoline, diesel, LPG, oil, and bitumen. Aside from AGIP scholarship, there are other multinational companies that provide scholarships of different categories to students. They include Shell scholarship, NNPC scholarship, Addax scholarship, Total scholarship, Exxon-Mobil scholarship, Chevron scholarship, and so on.
Categories for AGIP scholarships include:

AGIP Undergraduate Scholarship

The application for the undergraduate category is only open for 100 level students of the Nigerian tertiary institutions. This means that any student in 200 level and above is not eligible to apply.
Eligibility

Host communities merit award: this is strictly for applicants from the National AGIP Oil Company host communities; Categories of students eligible include students studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, and Agricultural Sciences.
National merit awards: this is for applicants from the non-host communities
Current beneficiaries of similar awards from other companies and agencies are not qualified for the application. Dependents of NAOC/NAE/AENR are exempted from the application.
Available to strictly indigenes of National AGIP Oil Company host communities of Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Imo states and they should apply for the host community category.

AGIP Postgraduate Scholarship

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the Nigerian AGIP Exploration (NAE) Limited is offering scholarships to suitable Nigerian graduates for the 2019/2020 Post Graduate Scholarship Award Scheme.
Categories of the award:

Overseas studies – for studies in reputable universities abroad and
Local studies – for studies in recognized Nigerian universities.

 
Eligibility for the Award
Individuals who are interested in the awards must possess the following qualities:

Possesses a minimum of Second Class Upper bachelor’s degree from a recognized Nigerian university
Has completed the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme
Has secured admission into the university for a one-year Master’s degree programme in the local or overseas university.
Possesses a valid international passport, at least one year from current year (this is only applicable to overseas candidates).

Required courses of studies for candidates include:

Geosciences
Law (Oil and Gas/Petroleum)
Petroleum Economics
Engineering (Electrical/Electronics, Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Chemical and Subsea)

General Requirements for the application include the following:

Clearly scanned copy of the following documents:

A passport photograph with a white background, size is 450px by 450px and not more than 200kb. Ensure that the passport is not more than three months old
A birth certificate
An O’level certificate
An admission letter
A JAMB result
A school identity card
A proof of local government area of origin
A letter from the paramount traditional ruler and
A letter from the CDC chairman.
A National Identification Number (NIN)

The documents must be named accordingly for easier identification and to avoid a mix-up of the documents during the uploading.
The necessary documents must be attached during the uploading
A valid email and phone contact must be provided for an effective communication.
A valid identity card (National identity card, driver’s licence or voter’s card)
A valid international passport data page for overseas category only and must be valid for travel at least one year from September 2019 (PDG)
An admission letter for post graduate studies 2019/2020 academic session into any relevant university (PDG)
A bachelor’s degree certificate (PDG)
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate (PDG)
The NAE compliance declaration form (PDG)

 
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
To apply for the NAOC scholarship, the following procedure is required:

Visit the site to register
Click on the “Apply Now” tab on the website.
Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
Go to your email box to activate your account.
Return to the scholarship website
Enter your email and password to upload your information
Enter your personal information which includes your passport, educational documents National Identification Number and the required letters.
The name used for the application must be the exact name on all your documents. If otherwise, obtain a sworn affidavit certificate and upload.
Crosscheck your work to eliminate all forms of possible errors during uploading.
If satisfied, click on “Apply Now” to submit your information.
A confirmatory email and SMS would be sent to you as proof of a successful application.
Return to the website and enter your email and password to download your information and print out.
Go to your Head of Department to sign the document downloaded.
Scan the signed document and upload to the website. This is for verification purposes.
Peradventure the National Identification Number is unavailable, ensure you get it.
Go to the website and update your information with the National Identification Number.

Note to overseas applicants:

You are encouraged to apply for the local category of the postgraduate awards.

Caution

The completion of the application form and invitation for the aptitude test does not bestow any qualifications for the award on any candidates.

Multiple entries lead to disqualifications.
