VACANCY: DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (CERTIFICATE COLLEGES) – 7 POSTS

Positions are tenable at Maun Technical College, Kanye Brigade, Barolong Brigade, Tutume Brigade, Kang Brigade, Matsheng Brigade, Lobatse Brigade

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Area of Specialization and a Master’s Degree in any Management field.

EXPERIENCE:

At least ten (10) years of working experience, of which two (2) years should have been served as Head of Department on D3 salary scale.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To plan, coordinate and manage the effective utilization of institution’s resources and curriculum issues.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Conducts and observes theoretical lessons during institutional training.
  • Supervises and monitors practical and laboratory demonstrations during institutional training.
  • Liaises with relevant stakeholders on institutional accreditation, programme accreditation and examination and maintaining apprenticeship obligations.
  • Liaises with the relevant department for institutional building maintenance.
  • Liaises with Curriculum Development and Evaluation officer in subjects related to curriculum development process.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates college policies.
  • Oversees the administration of student’s admissions, certification and general welfare.
  • Attends to matters related to college student’s affairs in relation to academic discipline and personal conduct.
  • Compiles and frequently updates student and staff data.
  • Develops program schemes of work and lesson or session plans.
  • Develops course out-lines and assessor’s guides.
  • Prepares and maintains departmental records and student’s information sheets.
  • Provides information on existing and planned expenditure to facilitate preparation of annual budget estimates.
  • Plans appropriate acquisition and utilisation of additional physical resources through estimating, purchasing and budgetary control.
  • Inspects at regular intervals, through the Heads of Departments, the quality assurance of the implementation of the programmes.
  • Reviews and monitors performance of supervisees.
  • Prepares and maintains departmental records and student’s information sheets.
  • Prepares for moderation process of Program Units.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
