What Is the CYD Fellowship?
The CYD Fellowships – A Talent Program for Cyber-Defense Research is a prestigious initiative by EPFL and the CYD Campus, aimed at supporting top-tier Master’s, PhD, and Postdoctoral researchers in cybersecurity, digital resilience, and data science. Fellows conduct research at Swiss universities and are hosted by the CYD Campus, with access to top labs at EPFL, ETH Zurich, and CYD’s Thun Office.

Fellowship Categories & Benefits
1️⃣ Master Thesis Fellowships
🕒 Duration: 6 months
💰 Support: Living allowance + research funds
📌 Eligibility: Enrolled in a Master’s program in a Swiss university

2️⃣ Doctoral Fellowships
🕒 Duration: 4 years (extendable to 5 years)
💰 Support: Full salary + research + travel/conference funds
📌 Eligibility: Pre-PhD students applying for doctoral research in cyber-defense

3️⃣ Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships
🕒 Duration: Up to 2 years
💰 Support: Full salary + research + travel/conference funds
📌 Eligibility: Completed PhD; proven ability to lead high-quality independent research

Who Can Apply?
You’re eligible if you:
✅ Have excellent academic results and research potential
✅ Are interested in cybersecurity, data science, or digital defense
✅ Are enrolled in or affiliated with a Swiss higher education institution
✅ Have a clear research plan relevant to cyber-defense
✅ Are motivated to tackle real-world cybersecurity challenges
For postdocs: You must demonstrate independent research capability and leadership.
