Which Fields are Eligible
The Western Cape Government is offering Funded Construction Training in two key disciplines within the construction sector:Bricklaying L3 (Ref. AGR)
If you have an interest in building and construction, this Funded Construction Training program is perfect for you. As a bricklayer, you’ll be taught how to construct walls, structures, and support systems for buildings. The course will cover all the essential techniques, including understanding building codes and regulations. Upon completion, you’ll be equipped to work on construction projects throughout the Western Cape.
Carpentry L3 (Ref. CGR)
Carpentry is another essential trade in construction. The Funded Construction Training in Carpentry will teach you how to work with wood and other materials to create frameworks, roofs, and finishes in building projects. Successful candidates will leave the course with the skills to become a professional carpenter, ready to work on a variety of construction sites.

Who can Apply?
To be eligible for the Funded Construction Training programs, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 34 years old.
- Citizenship: Only South African citizens can apply.
- Residency: You must reside in the Garden Route District.
- Employment Status: Applicants must be unemployed.
- Educational Qualifications:
- For Bricklaying, you must have at least NQF L3 (Grade 11/NCV L3) in Communication and Mathematical Literacy.
- For Carpentry, the same NQF L3 (Grade 11/NCV L3) qualification in Communication and Mathematical Literacy is required.
Other Key Requirements for Funded Construction Training
- Good Health: Applicants must be in good health and must undergo a medical and substance abuse exam before being accepted into the program.
