Tell Me About The Bridge Fellowship Program:

The Bridge Program (TBP) is Nigeria’s most prestigious leadership fellowship aimed at developing the leaders of tomorrow. This one-year, active, free fellowship starts with a residential bootcamp between July and August, followed by year-long leadership training through a blend of self-paced learning, interactive simulations, real-life experiences, and portfolio building.

Upon completion, fellows become part of an active alumni network, which provides lifelong learning and support. TBP has grown over the years and is set to welcome a new class of 500 students in 2026, prioritizing entrepreneurial leaders, especially those involved in tech entrepreneurship or driving social impact initiatives.

Who can Apply For The Bridge Fellowship Program?

This fellowship is open to all tertiary institution students based in Nigeria, especially those with at least two years of schooling left. The program encourages penultimate and final-year students to explore the Pathway Career Accelerator programs instead. Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in a tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • Have at least two years of schooling left (preferably).
  • Be passionate about leadership and social impact.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial drive or social change ambition.

How are Applicants Selected?

The selection process for the Bridge Program is multifaceted. The program evaluates how candidates think, lead, and approach challenges. Key criteria include:

  • Experiences and Accomplishments: Proactive learning and tackling complex issues.
  • Leadership Potential: Initiative, problem-solving, and influence (both large and small-scale examples).
  • Beliefs and Values: Empathy, broad goals, and audacity.
  • Impact: How candidates have made an impact through personal, academic, or extracurricular activities.

No single factor such as CGPA or application essays will solely determine the decision. The overall evaluation will consider personal background, experiences, and the applicant’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to the program.

What is the Benefit of the Bridge Fellowship Program?

The fellowship benefits include:

  • Lodging and Feeding: All lodging and feeding expenses for the residential bootcamp are covered by the Bridge Program. Travel expenses to and from the bootcamp are not included.
    Comprehensive Training: Fellows will undergo extensive leadership training, problem-solving exercises, and portfolio development.
