The Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and the Education and Youth Board offer scholarships for international students, researchers, and academic staff under bilateral agreements. These awards support participation in summer schools, degree/exchange study, and research/teaching activities at Estonian universities.
Scholarship Types
- Summer School Scholarships
- Supports BA, MA, PhD students (≥1 year enrolled).
- Covers course fees (up to €700) + accommodation (€25/night, max 4 weeks).
- Eligible courses include Estonian language, IT, media, international relations, design, AI, sustainability, etc.
- Researcher & Academic Staff Grants
- For foreign university staff (professors, lecturers, research fellows).
- Short‑term (1–9 days, €45/day) or long‑term (10 days–10 months, €660/month).
- Supports teaching, collaboration, and research at Estonian HEIs.
- Degree & Exchange Study Scholarships
- For foreign students admitted to Estonian HEIs.
- Supports Master’s & PhD studies in all fields.
- BA scholarships only for Estonian language & culture.
- Excludes doctoral students with active junior researcher contracts.
- Eligible countries include India, USA, UK, Germany, France, China, Nigeria, Turkey, Brazil, and many more.
