Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Receive provisional or unconditional admission to a Master’s programme before February 2027.
- Have excellent academic performance, confirmed by recommendation letters.
- Show outstanding grades during undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency as required by the chosen programme.
- Be available for the full duration of the programme.
- Be in good health (to arrange health insurance in the Netherlands).
- Hold nationality from one of the eligible countries listed (Appendix 1).
- Have no other means of financing their studies.
How are Applicants Selected?
- The University of Groningen Admission Office and faculty boards nominate suitable candidates.
- Only applicants with admission offers before February are considered.
- Final selection is competitive due to limited grants.

- Africa: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, etc.
- Asia: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, etc.
- Latin America: Bolivia, Honduras, Nicaragua.
- Other regions: Afghanistan, Yemen, Haiti, etc.
