The World Young Credit Union Professionals (WYCUP) Scholarship Program is an initiative by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions that connects emerging leaders under 40 to a global network of credit unions and financial cooperatives. This program recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to improving lives through financial cooperatives. Scholarship recipients receive support to attend prominent global events, including the Super Summit Sicredi in Brazil and the World Credit Union Conference in Sweden, with the opportunity to engage with industry peers and participate in transformative learning experiences.

Who can Apply For The World Young Credit Union Professionals (WYCUP) Scholarship?

In addition, to be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be 40 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2025.
  • Demonstrate leadership, passion, and a commitment to credit unions or financial cooperatives.
  • Must be an employee or volunteer with a credit union or cooperative financial institution.
  • Preference is given to individuals engaged with local young professional networks or actively building one.
  • Must be endorsed by a member organization of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU).
  • Must not have previously received a WYCUP scholarship or be a current WOCCU employee.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Alignment with eligibility requirements.
  • Leadership potential and demonstrated commitment to credit union goals.
  • Active involvement in advancing financial inclusion and sustainability.
  • Review by a panel including WOCCU staff and WYCUP alumni.
