Consistent with our mission of “shaping the global future together,” the Atlantic Council’s Young Global Professionals Program serves as a cornerstone of our vision to create a more free, secure, and prosperous world by shaping the next generation of global leaders.
This prestigious paid internship program for intellectual entrepreneurs offers hands-on experience working at the forefront of international affairs and global engagement. The program is also designed as a career accelerator.
Through two separate cohorts throughout the year, our program will provide driven, diverse, high-performing classes of young professionals the opportunity to represent the Council’s values and advance our mission with integrity in high-impact, global careers at the Council and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to support the activities of the Center.
- Manage program contacts database.
- Participate in regular meetings and monthly Atlantic Council meetings.
- Draft formal correspondence to government officials and invitations for events.
- Take notes at Council roundtables and strategy sessions for program archives.
- Assist the Center in promoting publications, events, and press mentions.

Who can Apply?
- Must be at least a college junior in good standing, a graduate student, or a recent graduate, preferably majoring in international affairs, African studies, economics, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written – live and virtual), including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
- Experience with social media campaigns, databases, and/or events management are desired.
- Strong analytical, planning, time management, and organizational skills are critical for success.
- Poise and professionalism in a team environment across hierarchies with colleagues and counterparts in the United States and abroad.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Aptitude and strong skills in research and writing are required.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hrs/week) is strongly preferred.
