The Allan Gray Centre for Africa Entrepreneurship (AGCAE) is part of the School of Public Leadership, within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. AGCAE focuses on using knowledge to develop entrepreneurial ecosystems in Africa to enhance community well-being through entrepreneurship. Also, the AGCAE is now accepting applications for its fully-funded doctoral and master’s research programs. Two scholarship opportunities are available:
- Doctoral Scholarships: Full-time scholarships worth R250,000 per year for three years.
- Master’s Scholarships: Full-time scholarships worth R150,000 per year for two years.

Who can Apply For The Allan Gray Centre for Africa Entrepreneurship (AGCAE) 2024 Postdoctoral Scholarship?
Additionally, applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- For PhD scholarships: One must meet Stellenbosch University’s PhD admission criteria, including having a relevant master’s degree.
- For Master’s scholarships: Must meet Stellenbosch University’s Master’s admission criteria, including having a relevant honours degree.
- Open to South African citizens and African foreign nationals, with preference for previously disadvantaged individuals.
- Must have achieved at least 70% in the master’s program for doctoral scholarships and 70% in the honours program for master’s scholarships.
- Applications must align with one of AGCAE’s research themes.
