The Bayreuth Humboldt Centre (BHC) promotes excellent research and international collaboration at the University of Bayreuth (UBT). It offers two competitive funding opportunities:
- Starter Grants (2027): €10,000 for innovative research projects in collaboration with a UBT host. Includes a family allowance (€250/month) if accompanied by children. Successful grantees may later apply for a Booster Grant (€20,000).
- Short Term Grants (2026): Up to €3,500 reimbursement for travel and accommodation for research stays of 1–3 weeks at UBT.
Both programmes aim to foster academic exchange across disciplines, cultures, and career stages, while strengthening UBT’s international research networks.
Which Fields are Eligible?
- All disciplines (with specific rulings for African Studies: members of the Cluster of Excellence cannot act as hosts if the project focuses on African Studies).
