Tell Me About The Scholarship
The Chevening–Leicester Partner Scholarship is a joint initiative between the UK Government’s Chevening Programme and the University of Leicester. It offers two fully funded scholarships for international students from Chevening‑eligible countries to pursue a one‑year taught Master’s degree at Leicester starting in September 2027.
Which Fields are Eligible
Eligible programmes include one‑year taught Master’s courses within:
- College of Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities
- School of Geography, Geology & Environment

Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a Chevening‑eligible country (160+ countries, excluding India).
- Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or 2:2.
- Have at least two years of work experience (≈ 2,800 hours, including voluntary work).
- Apply to three different UK Master’s programmes and secure an unconditional offer from at least one.
- Commit to returning to their home country for two years after completion.
How Are Scholars Selected
- Selection is managed by the Chevening Secretariat.
- Based on academic merit, leadership potential, networking ability, and career plan essays.
- References and interviews form part of the process.
