The African Union AfCFTA Secretariat Internship Program offers students across Africa the opportunity to gain hands‑on training, professional development, and global networking experience. Interns are introduced to the work of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the world’s largest free trade area, which unites 55 AU member states and 8 Regional Economic Communities.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be nationals of an AU Member State and residing in Ghana.
  • Be final‑year students enrolled full‑time in an accredited degree program (preferably in interpretation/translation or related fields).
  • Be available for at least three months (program duration).
  • Be proficient in one AU official language (English, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Kiswahili, Spanish); fluency in another is an advantage.
  • Possess strong quantitative, IT, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Be willing to work in a multicultural, international team environment.
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Applications reviewed for eligibility and completeness.
  • Selection based on academic background, language proficiency, and motivation.
  • Successful candidates deployed to assist in translation, interpretation, research, and corporate functions.
