OneBeat is the premier multinational music exchange program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Through a suite of programs designed to use collaborative music creation to promote civic discourse, young musicians explore how artists, institutions, and communities can work together to rejuvenate local economies and promote civic engagement through music, technology, and the creative arts. Also, OneBeat is accepting applications for a month-long U.S.-based music exchange scheduled for the spring of 2025, which will convene 25 musicians from up to 54 eligible countries and territories.

Who can Apply For The OneBeat Music Exchange Program 2025?

Applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be between 19 and 35 years old during the program end dates (May 2025).
  • Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries. American citizens or U.S. Legal Permanent Residents are not eligible.ย 
  • Must demonstrate basic English language proficiency
  • Must be committed to returning to their home country upon completion of the program and satisfying the J-visa two-year residency requirement
