The Marianne Initiative, launched in 2021 by the French government, is a fully funded fellowship in Paris for human rights defenders worldwide. It provides an 18-week intensive programme combining training, mentoring, and networking with French and international institutions. The fellowship is designed to strengthen defenders’ skills, visibility, and resilience while offering protected time to recharge.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:

How are Fellows Selected?
- Selection by an independent expert committee.
- Based on activism record, impact, and potential to contribute to the global human rights network.
- Approximately 15 fellows chosen annually.
