1. Australia

International students have a strong preference for Australia. Government figures show that at least 1.09 international students were enrolled in 2022. Australia had a 73808 rise in student enrollment in 2019. According to a recent announcement by the Australian government, admission to international schools will now require excellent scores on English proficiency tests like the TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo English Test. The IELTS score required for a student visa has increased from 5.5 to 6.0, while the score required for a temporary visa has increased from 6.0 to 6.5.

2. United Kingdom/Britain

According to the UK Home Office, the quantity of sponsored study visas awarded to international students has increased significantly, by 54%, as compared to 2022. With this development, the UK is now seen as the top choice for international students looking to pursue higher education. To pursue higher education and other courses, more than 7.50 lakh students nationwide enroll in independent and language schools each year, according to British officials.

The adjustments made by the UK government are as follows:

Families of international students are not permitted to enter the UK. To move their family to the UK, they will need to complete a postgraduate degree. After finishing their education, a student’s visa can be changed to a work visa. Additionally, the price of a visa has increased to 623.72 United States dollars.

3. Canada:

The number of international students in Canada is growing at its fastest rate in a single quarter in 66 years, including the number of permanent residents. The Canadian government requires the Post Secondary Nominated Learning Institutes to verify each applicant’s admission letter with the IRCC directly. Additionally, beginning January 1, 2024, the minimum amount for foreign students residing in Canada has been raised from $10,000 to $20,635.

4. France:

One of the top five Schengen countries for international students, the nation received 137.88 Euro visa applications in 2022, according to the data. Germany with 76,352 applications, the Netherlands with 52,616 applications, Spain in third place with 80,098 applications, and Switzerland in second place. The French government has increased the two-year post-study visa to a five-year visa, per new regulations. According to the administration, students who have studied in the country for even one semester toward a master’s degree or higher are now eligible to apply for a five-year short-term Schengen visa and search for work.

5. Ireland:

The Irish government will now offer a two-year post-study visa. This suggests that after earning their master’s degrees, foreign students can now remain for two years. PhD holders, however, are allowed to stay for three years.

6. Italy:

This enables international students pursuing their degrees in Italy to stay an additional year. 5,897 international students were in Italy in 2022 on study visas, according to government data.

7. United States of America:

On November 27, the US Embassy changed the procedure for international students applying for visas. Last year, it announced new rules aimed at lowering immigration fraud involving students. It is advised that students who want to apply for F, M, or J student visas make appointments and create profiles using the details from their passports. If you arrive at your scheduled appointment with the incorrect passport number, your request will be denied by the visa application center.
