The Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship is a collaboration between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. It is designed for mid‑career professionals and academics committed to advancing understanding of Islamic culture, civilisation, and contemporary Muslim societies. Fellows undertake self‑directed research projects while engaging in intercultural dialogue and policy discussions.

Who Can Apply
Applicants must:

- Hold a postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional training/experience.
- Have at least five years of professional or academic research experience.
- Be resident in their eligible country at the time of application.
How Are Fellows Selected
- Two‑stage interview process:
- Round 1: British embassies/high commissions assess suitability and motivation.
- Round 2: OCIS representatives focus on research proposal.
- Selection based on merit, research potential, and leadership qualities.
