The Excellence Programme at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is designed to attract outstanding non‑EU and non‑EFTA international students to pursue a Master’s degree starting in September 2027. It offers a tuition fee waiver for 24 months and is awarded competitively to applicants with exceptional academic records.
Which Fields are Eligible
All WUR MSc programmes are eligible, provided applicants meet admission requirements and unconditional admission is granted.

Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a non‑EU and non‑EFTA country.
- Submit a complete MSc application (including all documents) before 1 December 2026.
- Be unconditionally admitted to a WUR MSc programme.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree completed before 1 December 2026.
- Meet WUR’s English language requirements before the deadline.
- Have a GPA of 80% or higher (First Class Honours or equivalent).
How Are Scholars Selected
- Selection coordinated by the WU Scholarship Selection Committee.
- Around March–April 2027, shortlisted applicants are informed.
- Final recipients chosen via a lottery among shortlisted candidates.
- Offers made on 7 April 2027; others placed on a waiting list.

- Limited number awarded annually; highly competitive.
What is the Benefit of the Scholarship

- Health and liability insurance
- Residence permit fee
- Tuition fees waived entirely.
How Long Will the Scholarship Last
- 2 years (full MSc programme duration).

- Completed MSc application form.
- Bachelor’s diploma (completed before 1 December 2026).
- Official transcripts.
- Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent).
- Personal statement and supporting documents.
