Tell Me About The Fellowship:
The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship, established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), supports foreign experts and scholars conducting advanced research in Taiwan, focusing on Taiwan studies, cross-strait relations, Asia-Pacific issues, and Sinology. Since its inception, more than 1,500 scholars from 93 countries have participated.
It also echoes the APEC Scholarship Initiative, offering 12 Chinese Taipei APEC Fellowship openings annually for scholars from developing APEC economies.

- Applications reviewed by MOFA and administered by the Center for Chinese Studies at National Central Library.
- Selection based on academic merit, relevance of research topic, and contribution to Taiwan-related studies.

- Monthly stipend:

- Assistant professors/postdocs/doctoral candidates/students: NT$50,000.
- Round-trip airfare (economy class).
- Accident insurance + medical insurance for accidental injuries (NT$1 million coverage).
- Fellowship duration: 3–12 months.
How Long Will the Fellowship Last?
- 3 to 12 months, depending on research plan.
