About the Programme
Tholoana is an 18-month business growth programme for entrepreneurs who are building established South African businesses. It provides tailored mentoring and practical support to help founders improve how they lead and grow their companies.
The programme supports business development in practical areas. These include leadership development, financial management, operational systems improvement, and market access support. As a result, selected entrepreneurs can strengthen both the business and their decision-making capacity.
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is designed for entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria:
- They are South African citizens
- They work full-time in their businesses
- They are majority shareholders and key decision-makers
- They lead businesses that are at least 51% black-owned and managed
- The businesses are registered and operating in South Africa
- The businesses have traded consistently for at least two years
- The businesses have paying customers and recurring, verifiable revenue
- They can demonstrate repeat demand for their products or services
- They have a viable business model and a credible opportunity to grow
- They are willing to learn, make changes, and commit to the full 18-month programme
In addition, priority consideration is given to businesses owned by women, youth, persons with disabilities, and businesses based in or meaningfully serving rural and township communities.
