The ARC–GSSP Scholarship Programme, launched by African Risk Capacity Limited (ARC Ltd.) in partnership with the Global Shield Solutions Platform (GSSP), provides fully funded postgraduate opportunities for African students. It focuses on building Africa’s resilience to climate change and disaster risks by supporting advanced studies in actuarial science, risk management, and related fields.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African Union Member State.
  • Hold a relevant undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Disaster Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Environmental Management.
  • Apply for an eligible full‑time postgraduate programme at a partner university.
  • Meet admission requirements of the selected university.
  • Commit to working in Africa for two years after graduation.
  • Complete an internship as part of the programme.

  • IFAGE, Dakar (Senegal) – Master Professionnel en Actuariat; Master Professionnel en Assurance.
  • University of Ghana (Accra, Ghana) – MSc in Actuarial Science; MPhil in Actuarial Science.

How Long Will the Scholarship Last

  • Up to two years of postgraduate study.
