Grimsby Town FC is recruiting a Head of Medical to lead the medical department for the Men’s First Team. Based in Cleethorpes, this permanent position offers a salary of £44,000–£49,000 (depending on experience) plus a £5,000 relocation allowance.

The role provides clinical leadership, injury management, rehabilitation oversight, and medical governance, ensuring players receive high‑quality, evidence‑based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medical programme for Men’s First Team.
  • Direct medical strategy and processes.
  • Manage medical staff and oversee player injury care.
  • Develop injury prevention and return‑to‑play strategies.
  • Provide medical cover at training sessions and fixtures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and pre‑signing medicals.
  • Lead cardiac screening and medical testing programmes.
  • Develop CPD opportunities for medical staff.
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions for placements.

About You

Applicants should have:

  • BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
  • ATMMiF or equivalent trauma qualification.
  • Experience in a medical role within sport.
  • Expertise in clinical assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, return‑to‑play planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • Desirable: postgraduate qualification, elite sport experience, prior management role.
