About the Internship
The Graduate Professional (Integrated Approaches) position is hosted by UNIDIR under its Integrated Approaches – Gender and Disarmament Programme. The role is based in Geneva and supports research, programme delivery, coordination, and administrative work.
In addition, the internship is designed for graduate students and recent graduates who want experience in disarmament research and programme support. Professional work experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct background research.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of programme activities, including meetings, workshops, conferences, and field missions.
- Support day-to-day communication, coordination, and administrative tasks.
- Perform other tasks as required by programme staff.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent), or have graduated with such a degree and commence the programme within one year of graduation.
- Preference is given to applicants with post-graduate qualifications relevant to gender, youth, and disarmament issues.
- Professional work experience is not required.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required.
- Knowledge of at least one other official UN language is an asset.
- Successful candidates must show proof of valid medical insurance coverage for the full programme period and provide a medical certificate of good health before commencement.
Skills Preferred: Research and presentation skills; ability to synthesize information into concise written briefs; organizational and coordination skills; interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva and InDesign
