The Faculty of Law, University of Porto (FDUP) is offering a Research Scholarship (BI) for Master’s students in Criminology under the project “Predatory publishing practices: Paper tigers or actual threats from evaluation systems?”. The project is hosted at the CIJ – Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Justice and funded through international funds of the Volkswagen Foundation.

Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology.
- Be enrolled in a Master’s program in Criminology (proof required at contracting).
- If degree obtained abroad, provide Portuguese recognition of academic degree.
Preferred requirements:
- Experience in scientific research.
- Experience conducting semi‑structured interviews and analyzing qualitative data.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Teamwork experience.
How Are Candidates Selected
- Curricular assessment (75%): academic record, degree classification, research experience.
- Optional interview (25%): if needed, conducted in English to assess qualitative research skills, English proficiency, motivation, and availability.
- Final score = 0.75 × AC + 0.25 × ENT.
- Candidates scoring below required profile may not be awarded.
