The African Union (AfCFTA Secretariat) is accepting applications for its Internship Program: Graphic Designer in Ghana. This opportunity is for final-year students in graphic design, digital media, visual communication, or related fields.


The internship supports the Secretariat’s visual communication work across digital platforms, events, campaigns, and publications. Moreover, selected interns will join a multicultural team and contribute to branding, layout design, and multimedia storytelling.

About the Internship

This internship is designed for final-year students enrolled full-time in a fully accredited degree programme. The role focuses on graphic design and visual communication support for the AfCFTA Secretariat.

Interns will help create communication materials for digital campaigns, web content, print products, events, and publications. In addition, they will support the Secretariat’s visual identity through consistent branding and strong design execution.

Responsibilities

  • Create visually compelling communication materials for digital platforms, events, campaigns, and publications
  • Deliver professional layout design and maintain branding consistency
  • Develop multimedia content to enhance the visual identity and storytelling of the Secretariat

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be nationals of a Member State of the African Union and residing in Ghana
  • Be final-year students enrolled full-time on a fully accredited degree programme in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • Be fully available for a minimum of three months
  • Have proficiency in one of the AU official working languages: French, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Kiswahili, or Spanish
  • Fluency in another AU language is an advantage
  • Have proficiency in developing visuals for diverse media formats, including digital campaigns, web, and print production
  • Be willing to work in a multicultural and international team environment
  • Commit to uphold the rules and values of the Institution for the duration of the program
  • Female candidates are encouraged to apply

Skills Preferred: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects; knowledge of video editing tools such as Premiere Pro; ability to develop visuals for digital, web, and print formats; proficiency in one or more AU official languages is an advantage.
