Applications are open for the FUNGUO Tanzania Fifth Call for Funding Applications 2026. This call supports early- and growth-stage Tanzanian startups and innovative MSMEs. In particular, it places emphasis on the agricultural value chain, digital innovation, and the critical minerals value chain.


Selected enterprises receive catalytic support through non-equity, performance-based grants. In addition, they gain technical assistance, visibility, networking opportunities, and access to FUNGUO learning and collaboration platforms.

About the Grant

FUNGUO Tanzania launched this fifth call to support businesses that are already beyond the ideation and pilot stage. Therefore, the opportunity is aimed at ventures with a minimum viable product and some market traction.

The programme focuses on enterprises that can use catalytic funding and tailored support to grow. Alongside the grant, selected businesses may benefit from business development support, investment readiness assistance, impact measurement support, and ecosystem connections.

Eligibility

To apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a for-profit entity or a market-oriented social enterprise that can be characterised as a startup
  • Be legally registered in Tanzania, either through incorporation or business name registration
  • Be majority-owned by Tanzanian citizens, with 51% ownership or above
  • Be beyond ideation and pilot stage, with a minimum viable product and some market traction (post-revenue)
  • Have not raised more than $100,000 in funding, whether equity or debt, to date
  • Demonstrate that the business does no harm to people and the environment
